Privacy, in plain language.
Sprignote is designed to keep your garden private by default. This page explains what stays on your device, what may leave it, and the choices you control.
The short version
- Your plants, journal, photos, care history, and environment notes live on your device by default.
- No account is required to use the local garden and journal.
- A plant photo leaves your device only when you request online identification.
- Cloud backup and household sharing are optional and begin only after you enable them.
- Anonymous product analytics are optional and exclude plant names, notes, photos, email, and account identifiers.
Information stored on your device
Sprignote stores plant profiles, identification history, photos, journal entries, care rhythms, reminders, spaces, household details, and app preferences locally. You can export readable garden data or create a complete backup from the app.
Plant identification
When you ask Sprignote to identify a plant, the selected image and the minimum technical information required to process the request are sent securely to Sprignote's identification service and its plant-recognition provider. Your journal and other plant records are not included. The app explains this before identification is used.
Optional account and cloud sync
If you create an account, Sprignote stores your email, session records, household membership, entitlement status, and a private cloud garden snapshot when sync is enabled. Nothing in the local garden is uploaded merely because you sign in. Account deletion removes the cloud account, sessions, household access, and owned cloud backups; local data on your device remains until you delete it there.
Purchases
App Store and Google Play handle payment details. Sprignote uses RevenueCat to verify subscription entitlements and does not receive your full payment-card information. Deleting a Sprignote account does not cancel a store subscription.
Analytics and diagnostics
Analytics are off until you opt in. Allowed events describe product actions and service status; they do not include free-form text, plant names, journal content, photos, email, or account identifiers. Support diagnostics follow the same content-free rule.
Your choices
You can use Sprignote without an account, decline analytics, keep sync off, export your records, make a complete backup, delete individual records, or delete your cloud account. Device permissions for camera, photos, and notifications can be changed in system settings.
